Prof.dr. W. Shadid is emeritus hoogleraar in interculturele communicatie aan de Universiteit van Tilburg en was van 1970 tot 2009 werkzaam bij Culturele Antropologie, Universiteit Leiden waar hij in 1970 is afgestudeerd. Hij was verantwoordelijk voor o.a. het onderwijs in de methoden en technieken van onderzoek. Hij geeft trainingen en doet onderzoek op het terrein van interculturele communicatie en competentie(zie pagina Publicaties).
 Prof.dr. W. Shadid is emeritus professor in intercultural communication at Tilburg University, The Netherlands, and was from 1970 till 2009 associated as an anthropologist with the Department of Cultural Anthropology and Developmentsociology, Leiden University.
